Saturday and chicken soup.

Yesterday was my last day and i went to school with a colleague. She had other plan with her family after school so i called up my mom to pick me up.
earlier on, our afternoon supervisor met us all to remind about our duty during the school holiday. my duty is on this coming Monday, 2-5pm.
it was merely chit-chatting and eating (potluck) for most of us yesterday in the staffroom. i got a class during the first and second period so i chit-chat with the kids in the class. Two girls Bita and Azah played riddles with me to kill the time.
My mom came with my lil sister to pick me up.It was raining in the evening and it got heavier during our trip back home. My mom stopped at Bandar Baru bangi to buy some chickens. i got myself half a chicken. wow it had been so long since i last picked up some groceries. My boy mentioned about chicken soup the other day so i would cook him some.
i made some chicken soup to eat with rice. my mom and my lil sis had some too. i think they liked it; it's a simple dish and it's different from the chicken soup that people would eat with garlic bread. Click the link for the recipe :)
A Rookie Chicken Soup ( for the soul haha )
i just peel 2 potatoes, cut them into 6 cubes.
boil them in a pot with 5 glasses of water.
quickly cut 1 part of chicken into small cubes, clean them and put them into the pot.
i put in 1 soup spices into the pot.
i add in 1.5cm of ginger root, slice thinly.
i will let the potatoes and the chicken get tender.
add in half of a chicken stock cube and a bit of salt to taste.
while keeping the soup on slow fire,
i will saute some sliced small unions, crushed garlics, a bit of cinnamon, star anise, cardamon, cloves and black pepper.
drain them from the oil as soon as the union turns brown and put them in the soup.
cut some spring unions and chinese celery and put them in the pot.
turn off the fire.
it's ready to be served hot.
and today i cooked it again.
and maybe for a couple of days next.
