New Year Countdown

Have you accomplished every resolution you made early this year?

I didn't have many resolutions for this year.

I just wanted to be a better teacher.
Whether i made it or not, it was only me who knew.
It may be in a very small scale.
Since it's New Year tomorrow for Muslims,
I shall reward myself.

My ex-boss used to say this a lot.

Always reward yourself after whatever work that you work on.

Sometimes there is a lot of competition at work with your colleagues or even your peers. Even so, the real competition is between you and your very own self!
So, it's very easy to determine whether you win or lose over yourself. For every each win, we should give ourselves some nice rewards. They are not necessarily in a form of materials. Hehe you have a creative mind, you should know what you want. *grin*

Hope and faith are the only things that really keep you going, make your world spin and lessen poverty.

Therefore, I should have BIGGER HOPE, LARGER FAITH.

I also will WORK HARDER and REWARD MYSELF BETTER.

Happy New Year!!

Learning new things

I am learning a few new things at the moment and one of the things that i am most excited about is website template making. I am still at the very basic of knowing how a template is made and built.

We believe that we, humans, learn new things everyday. As long as we breathe.
But how many of us realize or take note to what we learn on everyday basis?
Most of my students at school don't too, though they are supposed to pay attention to what is taught to them.

There are many ways some lessons are remembered or stuck in our mind forever.

Maybe because the teacher (this applies to anyone who gives you the lessons) talks very clear and doesn't confuse you. Also, the teacher has this very high level of patience who believes there is no stupid question but only smart answers.

We also learn from the real situation. Therefore, we will know how or what to decide.
Or we learn from mistakes.

Or even through aggression.

Hmm... this reminds me of something that happened to me like 20 years ago. Being a nine year old girl in my family, i was like a frustration to everyone because i seemed like hadn't gotten to know how to be independent or how to handle things on my own. I didn't know how to cook yet. My one of the few tasks often asked by my mom was to turn off the stove after water was boiled or a dish was cooked.

I was in the kitchen that night, along with my elder bother. We were both hungry so we helped ourselves. My mom cooked a few dishes for dinner and they were all in pots.
i was using the same spoon to take those dishes into my plate and suddenly my elder brother kicked me in the back. Angrily, he said that i would make the food stale because i was using the same spoon for different dishes. Well, i don't want to discuss what happened after that.

i just want to say...

THAT really really went into my brain.

I am not saying the best way for a lesson to be taught is with aggression. There are many better ways too.

I am a natural slow learner and i work with slow hands too. Learning new things at an adult age can be a difficult thing. BUT, we have lived long enough to know ourselves well. So adapt yourselves to the teacher's style of teaching and get those inputs as maximum as you can.

I Loved My Sunday

I hated my Saturday this week cus it was very unproductive and i was sleeping a lot, stressing about my new venture, watching old movies over HBO, CINEMAX and STAR MOVIES.
So i told myself Sunday must be better, and outside (the house).

Sunday - 2 weddings invitations. ( I didn't know them )
I had planned to go for only one. So i ate quite a lot there. after finished eating, i followed my mom into the bride's house to chat while waiting for the newlyweds for the next event of the ceremony.

Whilst waiting for them, surprisingly an old friend called and invited us to another wedding. i met her on the internet and it was 5 years ago...
it was my first time meeting her real life. She was so her, nothing changed. i was glad i could meet her finally.

i went out for almost 12 hours. i was an online freak maybe, i got comments about not seeing me (online) the whole day.

I'm back

I came back from my hometown yesterday.

I missed everything that i have here.

My curry leaves are still that tiny, like nothing changed even after a few days away from home. I'm starting to wonder if they ever will grow bigger. It is two months old. It didn't grow any new shoots too.

Why?

Why am i nocturnal? haha..
i couldnt sleep at all last night. my eyes were wide open until 8 in the morning. maybe it was the drugs i ve been taking for past few days. Phews.

The car broke down 2 days ago. Something went wrong with the code or something like that ( i have the least idea of what was it about). Now it's at Glenmarie, not sure whether it will be ok tomorrow.

Did you watch the movie KAMI? We are using that volvo for the time being. It's cute ( it's very subjective how something can be 'cute' mean to me). A friend was kind enough to let us use his dad's car. His dad's away on the pilgrimage at Mecca. Lol i was 'feeling' Lynn riding that car with ABU. haha. I've always liked Abu among the five of them.

Now... i have to go back to see my dad soon. My sis and her family are leaving for my dad's tomorrow night, after her meeting that ends in the evening. I told them that i might go back on the seventh. Eid al-Adha is on the 8th. My sis who resides in Kuala Terengganu will go home too. Ouh mentioning Kuala Terengganu, Monsoon Cup is running now from 3rd - 7th December at Pulau Duyung in Terengganu, Malaysia.

Visit Malaysia every year.....

39 degrees

i had a fever for two days, thought panadol could help but it was to no avail. i didnt sweat at all.. my eyes were hot, my ears seemed almost going to explode because of the heat.

so last night i went to see the doc. my temperature was 39 degrees. it was so long since i got a very high fever like this. i agreed to his suggestion to take an injection to decrease my fever.

after dinner, i took the medicine and i finally sweat.

good for me.

P.S : Thanks for friends who said hello and wished for my health. I'm much much better.

Cat’s Whiskers

I can easily claim myself as a rookie gardener (just like a rookie cook). Don't laugh if you see my plants.. because of their bad condition. What is more important now is that they are not dying... (i hope).

my first plant is a herb. Try to pronounce this word, Orthosiphon Stamineus (hah!). In Malay we call this Remujung or Misai Kucing (Cat’s Whiskers) and perhaps Java Tea to many of you out there.

It's a famous herb known as a remedy to cure ailments of kidney, bladder stone, urinary tract infection, liver and bladder problems, diabetes, rheumatism and gout. It is also used to reduce cholesterol and blood pressure.

I take it once in a while as tea (the leaves are dried first) or i just chew a few leaves.

So this was how it got its name i think.. the flowers look like a cat's whiskers at some parts.

The Author

I am a person who used to write a lot when i was growing up but lost the passion to it because of the time constrain and other commitments. writing itself for me was a form of catharsis when i was in school. i was devoted to my diaries each year then.
